Raising A Reader Literacy Event at Barnes & Noble of Greenville 12/1 & 12/2

On Saturday, April 28th and Sunday, April 29th Raising A Reader will provide a literacy event at Barnes & Noble of Greenville.

Beginning at noon on Saturday, Mike Litwin, local illustrator, will live illustrate during story time.  See his work here!

Immediately following story time, 3-5 year old preschoolers will perform from 2pm- 4:30pm.

All weekend families and community members can participate in a scavenger hunt and visit miniature models of Big Ben, the Eiffel Tower and The Great Wall of China.  Community members are also invited to add hieroglyphics to the Pyramids of Greenville.

If you make a purchase and mention Raising A Reader at the register, Barnes & Noble will donate 20% of your purchase to this program -this includes café purchases as well.

Raising A Reader is a powerful early childhood pre-literacy program targeting 3-5 year olds.  Raising A Reader currently works with 175 young children in 12 local child care classrooms to encourage early literacy skills in the preschool setting by holding weekly literacy readings in classrooms, literacy events in the community, technical support for teachers and parents, as well as rotating quality age-appropriate books to families.  If you are thinking about holiday shopping, we will be gift wrapping all weekend as well – donations appreciated!
