Saturday, April 14th – PirateFest

Come join us for the 12th Annual PirateFest in Uptown Greenville! We will have a booth set-up for the kids to dig for buried treasure, and for parents to receive information on the free resources we have available for parents and caregivers of children birth to five. You’ll also have the opportunity to purchase our Greenville Baby book for a discounted price! Come out and enjoy a family-friendly environment with lots of games, food, and fun! Sunday, April 15th – Maternity Fair

The 26th Annual Making Pitt’s Babies Fit Maternity Fair is for expectant parents, new parents, and grandparents in Pitt County! The Partnership will be on hand to speak with families about all of our free resources for your new little one — such as our Lending Library, assistance finding childcare services, Parents as Teachers, and more. Week of the Young Child

Each year, the Martin-Pitt Partnership for Children celebrates early learning, young children, their teachers, and families in conjunction with the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC). Each day features a different theme, and the Partnership has created several free, fun events each day for local families to enjoy!

Monday, April 16th – Music Monday

Join us as we kick off the Week of the Young Child! From 9 a.m. to 11 a.m., we will host a musical celebration at H. Boyd Lee Park [5184 Corey Rd., Winterville, NC 28590] to celebrate Music Monday featuring musical activities, snacks, and games. Tuesday, April 17th – Tasty Tuesday

We’re partnering with Juice Vibes in Greenville to give families a taste of just how delicious and easy healthy snacking can be! Come out and taste some of their favorite juices, learn about how to choose healthier options for your child, and ask any questions you may have! On Tuesday evening, join us at Panera for a proceeds fundraiser. Simply show up from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. and Panera will donate a portion of the proceeds from your meal to support early childhood education within our community! Wednesday, April 18th – Work Together Wednesday

When children build together, they explore math and science concepts and develop their social and early literacy skills. For Work Together Wednesday, we are partnering with Bricks 4 Kidz for two sessions — one at 9 a.m., and one at 6 p.m. The morning session will be held at our Greenville office [111B Eastbrook Dr., Greenville, NC 27858] and the evening session will be at Bricks 4 Kidz [2512 S Charles Blvd., Greenville, NC 27858]. Children will build a model of “Me” together using Duplo bricks.! This event is free for children ages 2 to 5 years and space is limited! Thursday, April 19th – Artsy Thursday

Art is such an important part of our children’s lives! For Artsy Thursday, we are partnering with local childcare centers to show that #mppfcRocks! We will be providing rocks, paint, and newspaper to help little ones embrace their creative side. In addition to working with local childcare centers, we will also host a rock painting event at our office in Greenville. The finished rocks will be placed in local public parks, and children will receive a map that shows where their rock will be located. Families will be encouraged to find the rocks and share them on social media with #mppfcRocks — who knows, there may even be prizes involved! Check out our Facebook event to learn more!

Friday, April 20th – Family Friday

Family Friday we will be partnering with TEDI BEAR Children’s Advocacy Center to host a Stewards of Children Training from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. at Memorial Baptist Church (1510 Greenville Blvd SE, Greenville, NC 27858). Child sexual abuse is likely the most prevalent health problem children face, with the most serious array of consequences. In fact, 1 in 10 children will experience sexual abuse before their 18th birthday. Stewards of Children is the only nationally available program scientifically proven to increase knowledge, improve attitudes and change child-protective behaviors. Saturday, April 21st – Martin County KidsFest

Join us for our 15th Annual Martin County KidsFest at Senator Bob Martin Eastern Agricultural Center (2900 NC Highway 125 South, Williamston, NC 27892) from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Come out connect with resources and information for your little ones! We will have activities that include games, music, art, and hands-on interactive activities from a variety of local organizations. Food and raffle items will be available to purchase! Saturday, April 21st – Movie in the Park

Our last event in the closing of Week of the Young Child will be a movie in the park! Come watch Moana with us and celebrate Week of the Young Child at 332 Sylvania Street in Winterville.
