RBC of Williamston Supports the Earliest Years of Childhood
Williamston, NC – Brain growth and development occur at an extremely fast rate during the first five years of life. In fact, a young child’s brain will grow up to 90% of its full size by the age of five.
RBC Bank of Williamston recognizes these important years and supports the outreach efforts of ChildLinks, a program funded by the Martin/Pitt Partnership for Children (The Partnership). RBC Bank has donated $150 to help ChildLinks and The Partnership continue its work as an information center for parents of young children and child care professionals.
“ChildLinks and Martin/Pitt Partnership for Children are great resources that families should be aware of,” says Katy Harris, RBC Banking Center Manager, “we hope that this donation will promote these helpful resources available to families in our community.”
Free parent memberships to ChildLinks are available for families with young children birth to five years of age. Memberships include access to hundreds of books on parenting topics such as discipline, behavior, toilet training, and much more. Educational games, puzzles, costumes, blocks, children’s books and puppets are a few examples of the enrichment-style materials available for check-out.
Experiences during the first five years of life literally shape and build young brains. ChildLinks and all of the programs funded by Martin/Pitt Partnership for Children are designed to provide resources for enriching these important early years.
