Visiting Friends With a Potty Chair in Tow

A mom is looking for potty training advice. She says:

“If you are starting to potty train your toddler and visit friends and family, is it acceptable to bring a potty along and put it in whatever room that my child is in? Should I put it in the bathroom instead? Some of my family members are saying that it is their house and they don’t want to be eating or drinking while he does his potty business.
